Spring Cleaning Tips

Is there any better time of year to clean than SPRING?! The days get longer, the sun gets brighter…and you can see all the dust in your home much more clearly! Embrace the season and start shining and polishing your Havenwood home. We’ve got some great tips to help you get started getting your home ready for the season.

Declutter

It’s always best to start with a clean slate! Start by decluttering your home. Get rid of anything you no longer need, use or love. You can donate, sell or recycle the items that are still in good condition. This will not only make your home look neater, but it will also make it easier to clean. It’s a win/win!

Deep Clean

Once you’ve decluttered, get ready to put in some elbow grease. This phase is often the most rewarding, so put on some empowering music and start deep cleaning. Clean all the surfaces in your home, including floors, walls, and ceilings. Don’t forget to dust and vacuum all the nooks and crannies. Motivate yourself by purchasing some new, efficient cleaning tools

Clean Windows

Clean the windows inside and out to let more sunlight in. Use a microfiber cloth or a squeegee and a window cleaner. Don’t forget to clean the blinds and the window frames too. There are lots of natural options for cleaners as well.

Organize Closets

Spring cleaning is the perfect time to organize your closets. Sort your clothes by category and get rid of anything that doesn’t fit, is worn out or you haven’t worn in the past year. Use closet organizers or bins to keep your clothes and accessories tidy.

Clean Appliances

Clean all your appliances, including the refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. Remove any food debris, grease, or stains. This will not only make them look better but also improve their performance. Need some inspiration? Check out some deep cleaning videos on YouTube!

Refresh Bedding

Wash all your bedding, including sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. This will not only make your bedding smell fresh but also help reduce allergens.

Check Safety Devices

Spring cleaning is also a good time to check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Replace the batteries if necessary.

Enjoy the Results!

Spring cleaning can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Take it one step at a time, and soon your home will be clean and ready for the season. Remember to involve your family members or roommates, and make it a fun activity. Happy cleaning!
